CITIZENSHIP AMENDMENT ACT OF 2019

As far the fact is concerned to know about the provisions and clauses of the latest CITIZENSHIP AMENDMENT ACT OF 2019 is negligible, even about 98% of the protestors doesn’t know what this act mean for them or not, or other remaining 2% know about it is just busy in provoking people just for their own self means. Not only paid media are indulged to create misconceptions among people but also most of the opposition’s parties are involved in it.

ENVIORNMENT BEFORE NRC

NRC is not just a new idea it came in origin in 1980s,but not any political party has such a will to implement it and it was recently implemented in some parts of India specially Assam. All those illegal migrants who come after 1971 just became refuges after it.

CAA-(CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT ACT OF 2019)

A very few know about it and what are its provisions, they may be media and leaders but I am also not sure that even all of them know all about it ,but maximum are just blindly involved in protesting with their misconceptions what they observed from media sources and their popular leader. Here are some of its main Provisions:

·         Minorities living in neighbouring countries of Pakistan, Afghanistan& Bangladesh can now acquire citizenship after residing 6years in India(earlier provisions was of 11years).

·         By this provision all refugees of the above mentioned countries living before 1 Dec 2014 can now acquire Indian Citizenship except Muslims (as these are Islamic countries, so Muslims will not be considered as minorities of those countries,but they stil can acquire citizenship after residing 11year in India as the provision was earlier).  

·         All these provisions are just for foreigners not even a single citizen of India is going to be effected by this new CAA.

·         No any special provision for Indian Muslims to prove their citizenship.

PROTEST IN ASSAM

All these drama started from Assam and North East, there was also misconceptions regarding this act that their ethnic identity is in danger after commence of this act while it is clearly stated that all Autonomous District has been kept excluded out of this provisions.

Some protests in favour that after acquiring of citizenship of these refugees they will have no more jobs left for them, but it is really a silly talk when you have a vast reservoir of mineral resources but you don’t want to exploit and utilize them to create jobs.

PROTESTS ALL OVER INDIA

Not only in Assam but the rumour spread all over the country and for all these not only media but also leaders of oppositions in the manner they discussed CAB at the floor of Parliament House created a very negative message and confusion in public and the government of these oppositions parties also helped a lot in it

Very soon the rumour spread out that all Indian Muslims have to prove their citizenship or they will lose their citizenship.

The protest became violent in Bengal with support of the state government the reason behind adding state government with violent protest is because that instead of controlling it this government just provoking people to protest on large scale and her statement is just for provoking.
 A number of people not only broke down railways tracks but also thrown on stones on running passenger trains. Public property was destroyed on a large scale, and we can simply say that these dumb people are not tax-payer, because if they were so they can never do such stupid things.

The rumour and protests spread all over the country and public property was destroyed on a large scale, all are busy in explaining that they are just using their fundamental right to protest, but the protest is violent but these dumb people have no idea that have been given right of peaceful protest and that to be with reasonable restrictions and in case they go against it our security forces has been given power to deal it with IPCs &SOCs and not with opinions of media or public pressure. Now the students of universities has been the best and first choice of all those who are funding for all these protests.

ROLE OF STATES

The role of the state government is to work for the stability of peace and run government in the public interest and to work for their welfare with provisions of Directive Principle of State Policy. Now the questions arises what is the role of the state and duties with respect to the orders of government and laws enacted by union Parliament. According to the Indian Constitution Art. 365 in case the states fails to comply the executives order then President may impose to suspend the government and impose Art.356  i.e., President Rule. The Gov. also have power to impose National Emergency in case of Armed Rebellion.

CONSTITUIONAL PROVISIONS AND CAA-2019

After all such a agitating protest as the protesters are claiming it that it is a violation of constitution, now the question arises how much all they know about before claiming it.

According to Indian Constitution Art.11, all laws related to citizenship will be determined by Gov. of India and we have a good examples of it in case  when only  Rohngya refugees were given citizenship and Muslims  in 1971 by Congress Party Gov. 

Now questions arise of Art.15, is CAA violation of it. The answer is Simply no, because Art.15,16,18,19..,are only for Indians not foreigners.

ROLE OF MEDIA

It is bitter but true, most of the Indian medias are politically biased and that’s why instead of criticizing or appreciating the policies and laws they just try to highlight propaganda of their interested parties, nevertheless whether the issues is good or bad. That’s the same happened in case of CAA, instead of showing the real fact and provisions of CAA they just started telecasting the statement of low class leaders whose main motive is just to create instability in the nation. If media channels tried to inform and aware people about the provisions about the CAA instead of telecasting these leaders, we can say our country may not have suffer from such a violent protests and destruction of Public Property and a negative message to world media and foreign investors.

The role of media should be positive and present real facts to maintain peace and stability. We should not forget a foreign investor always look for a favourable working conditions to invest, none want to invest in middle-east countries like-Syria, Iraq etc so we should try to present a good and peaceful message to world, otherwise all these hinders development and loss to nation in misconceptions.
